Cayuga Community College Men's Basketball dominated the second half en route to a home win over Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Saturday.

Holding a three-point lead at halftime, Cayuga pulled away for an 88-69 win behind a strong team defensive performance and 20-point games from Yaqub Drammeh and Josiah Murphy.

"That was a great team win. We had 18 team assists and played good defense, holding them to one-and-done on a lot of trips down the floor," said Cayuga Coach Tony Borges.

After the teams traded the lead in the opening minutes, the Raiders built a single-digit advantage that they held for much of the half. Cayuga twice cut the margin to a single point, once on free throws from Kirk McFarlane and then again on a McFarlane layup, before taking the lead on a put-back by Drammeh. Ryan Cameron followed that up with a three-pointer, giving the Spartans a 39-36 halftime lead.

Cayuga's defense controlled the Raiders the entire second half, holding FMCC to just five points in the first 10 minutes of the frame. The Spartans started the half on a 17-5 run to take control, with Drammeh, Murphy, McFarlane and Omar Musa leading Cayuga's offense.

Drammeh finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds, and Murphy had 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Musa finished with 16 points, four steals and three rebounds, and McFarlane added 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists and a block.

Cayuga is home again Tuesday, Feb. 3, against Finger Lakes Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
