Conference Coach of the Year (2022)
John Rizzo enters his fifth season as Head Coach for the baseball team. He started with Cayuga in 2019 as an Assistant Coach under mentor TJ Gamba. In his first four seasons, Coach Rizzo has amassed a career record of 110-59 with three Conference Championships, four trips to the Regional Tournament and was named MSAC Coach of the Year in 2022. Under Coach Rizzo’s tenure, 16 Spartans have been named All-Region, while Hazel Martinez (2022) was named Region III Player of the Year. Martinez (2022) and Jeremy Recio (2025) were named Conference Players of the Year and Martinez was a First-Team All-American. Three players have been awarded Rawlings Gold Gloves including Auburn native, Kevin Dolan.
