Conference, Regional Awards Roll in for Spartans
Strong seasons at the plate, on the mound, and in the field helped seven members of Cayuga Community College Baseball earn postseason accolades this week.
After a season that saw Cayuga tie a program-best mark of 31 wins, seven Spartans were honored by Region III and the Mid-State Athletic Conference, led by sophomore outfielder Jeremy Recio being named First-Team All-Region.
Recio finished a stellar career this spring at Cayuga, batting .397 with 51 RBI, 61 runs scored, and a team-best eight homers in 2026. He also stole 19 bases, had an on-base percentage of .503, and committed just one error on the season for a fielding percentage of .990.
Freshmen Tyler Black, Chase Mascelli, and Jancarlos Rodriguez, and sophomores James MacLean, Jakson Ross and Eathen Yoon, also received regional and/or conference honors.
Black led Cayuga with a .417 average and 66 RBI, while also hitting five homers and scoring 53 runs. Ross was the team's leadoff hitter all season, leading them with 65 runs scored and a .505 on-base percentage. Yoon batted .378 with four homers and 42 RBI, and Rodriguez led the team with six wins and 37 strikeouts.
